These Labidochromis is a member of the morer family known as cihclid. It is a native in the Lake Malawi, Africa. This lake is situated between Tanzania, Mozambique, and Malawi. Labidochromis is part of the group of fish referred to as the African Cichlids or the Malawi cichlids. They are commonly called electric yellow cichlid because of their yellow palette. Their colors are as brilliant as the saltwater faring yellow tang.
They’re also called Mbuna which means rockfish in the people of Malawi. They live in rock piles, caves and other openings from the lake.
They are not known to fish collectors until the year 1986. Stuart Grand and his divers discovered the Labidochromis in Malawi in 1980. These fishes are docile in nature and they lack agreesive instinct that is common to most of the African cichlids. They make wonderful addition to tanks that provides lots of rock formations and caves.
