Leaves are pretty specially in the fall. You can find orange, red and yellow leaves just outside your home. These leaves are nice to preserve and for making scrap books. At the same time, doing this activity will let your children learn about the trees from which the leaves came from.
Hunt for leaves with your children and help them create scrap books. If there are not much trees in your neighborhood, you can take an afternoon drive into rural areas or you can try the park. Help them collect leaves from different trees so there would be plenty of opportunities for them to learn. You can also add pine needles, they look nice on scrap books. It would be a great learning activity to research the trees from which those leaves came from. You can do your research online for fast and easy research.
Ask them to write a short description about the tree underneath the leaf in his scrap book. They can add the ideas they have in mind including the one they got from their research. Falling leaves are great activities for learning kids and it would be an even better activity if assisted by the kid’s parents.
